Well I survived!  Barely!
This first week of school has been brutal.
I KNOW every year is tough. I know it takes time and patience
{and more and more and more patience}!
Rules, procedures, rules, procedures.. it goes on and on.
I want my babies back from last year. They were trained.
Come on mid-September.
I KNOW then it will be tons better and all of this will be a memory!
This is year #17 for me. I know by now each day will be better.

And if being tired wasn't enough.. I am BROKE! HA! Cause going back to school is expensive for the teacher! Everybody needs a little extra cash, right. I blog about Ebates often. It seriously takes NO effort and earns a little cash back. {$78 this payout}

I've been a member since February 2011 and use it almost daily!

Just in case you missed it.
I blogged earlier in the week about these easy birthday treat cups I made up for our classroom birthdays. Everything came from Oriental Trading.

I also http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2016/08/back-to-school-bulletin-boards-ideas.htmlblogged about my back to school bulletin boards last weekend. And, the etsy seller who made my first grade felt banner is offering 20% off if you are interested in purchasing one.
I bought the Happy Birthday banner and she changed the wording to first grade for me.
The code for 20% off is THANKYOU. Her etsy store is A Felt Affair.

I wish that I could say my firsties rocked our first week of math centers.
But....
I knew it just wasn't going to happen.
So, I prepped them and we have been doing one a day "whole group" while I put the cards on my Elmo and they write the answers on the recording sheet.
WHY?! Have I never done this?!
This seems to be working great to an introduction to my centers. I have explained so much this week. I've been using my Back to School Math Centers so they fit right and are a perfect kindergarten review.

  2. Congrats on making through the first week! The beginning of the year is TOUGH, and we need to be as positive as possible while we're exhausted to set the kids at ease. Phew! I think I need an Elmo. It would be SO perfect for modeling. Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks as always for hosting!

  3. Hearing how tired you are is making me tired and I don't go back for 10 more days! I am sure your kiddos will start making huge strides very soon and you will look back at this week as a distant memory!

  5. I am so glad I am not the only one thinking "I'm ready for it to be later in the year". I'm 2 days in and I'm so ready for some of these little things to become automatic with my class. Those math centers look awesome and I really need to look into Ebates!
