I have stumbled upon an exciting and fun product from Learning Resources that my first graders LOVED!
Even though it is designed to teach elapsed time- and even has great magnetic pieces to use with that skill. We used it for basic telling time practice last week.
Eventually, I will use it to review/teach the harder skills like
If it is 4:00 how many hours until 9:00?
The timeline magnetic pieces are great visuals and also will be very good at getting a “visual” when teaching AM/PM to students. {one of my least favorite things to teach because it is SO hard for little ones to understand!}
Here is everything you get in the box. We just used the main clock faces and the hour & minute hand so far. .. but I am excited about this product and wanted to share it with you.

The clock faces are large. Here they are stuck on my white 12x12 magnetic boards. So, they are around 10” and are easy for little hands to use and also for the whole class to see.
The minute interval can be removed {see picture above} and I took them off to make it more challenging for my students.
We played a quick review game one morning. I had two students stand in front and I gave them a time. They made their clock show the time given then they turned around and showed the class.
If they got it right, they stayed in the game. If they got it wrong- they were out. It took less than 15 minutes and they loved it!
I will be using this product a lot and look forward to using it later in the year for those harder telling time skills.
