Saturday the four of us who organized the Books for Batesville Book Drive met up and delivered the books that so many of YOU donated to the kindergarten and pre-k teachers in Batesville, Mississippi. The local elementary school lost all 15 of their kindergarten classes and 2 pre-k classes in a fire last month.

Thank you so much to anyone who bought and donated a book {or several} and to anyone who shared our facebook posts asking for help. We collected over 1,000 brand new books for these teachers!

IMG_9646 I went back to school Thursday and have been spending all week buried under scraps of paper. This is a little sneak peak of my back to school bulletin board and door. I’ll be back next week with finished pictures! Stay tuned…

I was also given my class list on Thursday so I spent all Thursday afternoon printing labels, labels, labels and … MORE LABELS! Whew what a chore! And I just KNOW that someone new will be added to the list just as soon as I am finished labeling everything! HA!

My kiddos come Monday so I am hoping for some rest this weekend!

Post your Five for Friday and link up below.

  1. I can't wait to see what your classroom looks like! I'm especially intrigued by all the paper pieces. I have not idea what that will be, but I'm sure it will look awesome. And great job on collecting all those books! I'm sure the teachers appreciated that. I'm sorry that I missed it. I guess I need to start following you on Facebook. :)

  6. I didn't know about the Dr. Seuss tip and so want to see your bboard!

Just an idea: Create a file with all the named labels in it. This way, you just have to open, edit, and print one file when you have a new student. I don't know how easy this would be for you but it's a thought!

  8. I was admiring the labels that you created! I love them. Do you have them in a package to purchase? I was also wondering what font you used for the oval door decorations with the students name on them. I love you work!
