Five for Friday {Linky Party…February 15th}

Welcome to this week’s Five for Friday Linky Party.. here are 5 random things from today or this week. Join the party and post your link below.
1. We started working on compound words this week. Which is always one of my favorite skills to teach- and kids love it too. Laura from Peace, Love and First Grade sent me her “I Have/Who Has” compound word game. This is the first time I have played this game with my class.. .I felt like it took them FOREVER to catch on. But, by today they were fast! They loved it.
2. We had a great Valentine’s day.. complete with a fun class party. We all {myself included} got a little jacked up on sugar! And I was glad to see the school day end! This is the loot of love I came home with.
3. Today was an early dismissal day .. and it was a wonderful to leave school a few minutes after 11:00 this morning.  I am excited to start my weekend!
4. I have been working on a new bear math centers unit a few nights this week. I printed off part of it and laminated it this afternoon. I really hope to finish it this week.
5. For the first time this year.. I walked away from school with one folder and a few papers {including my weekly newsletter}. I am looking forward to spending Sunday afternoon/night doing something other than grading and planning!
Post your “Five for Friday” post on your blog and link up below.
Happy Weekend!

That is a great feeling - leaving school with hardly any "home" work for the weekend. Enjoy!

I know what you mean with the grading and planning! I got all of my grading and half of my plans done today and I think I will be lost come Monday night when I don't have plans to do!

Thanks for hosting! Your Five for Fridays are fun reads! I was traumatized by a money I Have, Who Has game, but that compound word one looks like fun! We'll be introducing them next week! =)

Thanks, again!

Thanks so much for sharing! I love your newsletter idea. I make one for my class but I love that your's is more of a resource than specific news! You have my mind rethinking a few things. :)

I bet parents really enjoy having your newsletter as a quick look at it all at a glance - plus it's a bit of eye candy ;) Who doesn't like something cute to look at?
