Thanksgiving Cut and Paste Printables

Last month I created a set of Halloween Cut and Paste printables. My first graders did one each day during the month of October. They loved them and I did too! It was perfect for independent work while everyone was getting settled in for the day.

So, I KNEW I wanted to create a set of Thanksgiving ones too for us to use in November {and don’t worry.. Christmas ones will be coming soon!}

This is a set of 24 worksheets- all in a cut and paste format.

I like to copy the answers on colored paper. I usually leave the actually background paper white because I have a few students who like to color if they have time when they finish.

    

Some skills included are: number words, days of the week, months of the year, telling time to the hour, what number comes next and before, what letter comes next and before, math facts and ordering numbers from least to greatest.

One of our math small group activities were these yes/no math fact sorting cards. If the answer was correct they put the card under yes. If it was wrong they put it under no.

I copied my Thanksgiving math sheets and have started using these for morning work. I also copied a few 2 per page for us to put in our math notebooks(journals} to use. They come in so handy! I love having them ready to use.

I used these word sorting cards in a small group independent activity. We have used these in a pocket chart a few times this year but we used them in baskets this time. It’s a perfect mobile activity that can be used anyway.

One easy spelling practice activity I like to do is type the letters to our weekly spelling words and I partner up my kids to cut and glue the letters to make their spelling words. I type the letters in a simple word table.

We also practiced our words with magnetic letters this week.

I used my cat counting cards as an even and odd sort for a math center this week.

We also spent some time on Monday making these turkeys for our hall bulletin board and door. The other 1/2 of the turkeys are on our classroom door. They turned out cute.

Turkey Time

 

We finished up our Thanksgiving activities this week and I have already started enjoying my Thanksgiving Break! My to do list is HUGE this week.. so I am looking forward to a lot of extra time!

Here is a look at a few things we did to celebrate Thanksgiving.

We did a directed turkey drawing activity.

We drew with our pencils first while I demonstrated and showed them how on the board.

  

After we finished drawing with our pencils- we used sharpies (and nobody did anything crazy!!) to outline our turkeys.

We used pencils colors to color our turkeys.

They turned out great!

I also used both of my Thanksgiving Packs for center activities.

     

We practiced spelling November by cutting the letters and gluing them in order.

 

We counted Thanksgiving pictures and recorded how many.

Did a little tally mark counting…

And even & odd sorting…

And we made more turkeys..

Number Word Match

 

Match the 24 number word cards to the correct number cards.

A follow-up sheet is also included.

Count the Thanksgiving pictures

Count the pictures and record how many you see.

There is also a graph to color for each picture.

Math fact YES/NO sort

Sort the 24 math facts under the yes and no header cards. If the math fact is correct it goes under yes, and if it is incorrect it goes under no.

A follow up sheet is also included.

Number Words & 100’s Chart:

Read the number words and color the corresponding number on the 100 number chart. You can use the cards to know which number to color or use the number word sheet that is included.

Capital letter sort

 

Sort the 30 words under the yes or no cards depending on if they need a capital letter. A follow up sheet is also included.

Cut and spell the word November

Cut the letter tiles out and glue them in order to spell November.

There are sheets with each letter- and also one sheet with all the letters. You can pick which way you like it best,

I copied these on colored construction paper. They also fit perfect on a sentence strip when you are ready to glue.

Getting Ready.. for Thanksgiving!

 

November is here.. and Thanksgiving is coming! I love this time of the year.

I pulled my “Thanksgiving box” out of storage yesterday.. and worked on some planning this afternoon.

Bring on the turkeys, Pilgrims, Indians.. and cornucopias!

I finished a new set of Thanksgiving centers this afternoon and have listed them in my store.
