1. We started working on compound words this week. Which is always one of my favorite skills to teach- and kids love it too. Laura from Peace, Love and First Grade sent me her “I Have/Who Has” compound word game. This is the first time I have played this game with my class.. .I felt like it took them FOREVER to catch on. But, by today they were fast! They loved it.

2. We had a great Valentine’s day.. complete with a fun class party. We all {myself included} got a little jacked up on sugar! And I was glad to see the school day end! This is the loot of love I came home with.

4. I have been working on a new bear math centers unit a few nights this week. I printed off part of it and laminated it this afternoon. I really hope to finish it this week.

5. For the first time this year.. I walked away from school with one folder and a few papers {including my weekly newsletter}. I am looking forward to spending Sunday afternoon/night doing something other than grading and planning!
