Five for Friday is a weekly teacher linky party where you post five random things from today or this past week and on your blog. Then, you come back and link your blog post up at the bottom of this post in the linky tool. Grab the button above and link back to this post on your blog.
This week has been all about compound words. This is a fun skill that I love! I made this big snowman chart last Friday afternoon.. and they were curious WHY it was covering up one of our whole whiteboards. All week we added compound words as we came across them in lessons to our chart. I snapped this picture on Wednesday because it has many more words added now. I had to start squeezing them in but we are still adding them daily!
One of our weekly phonics stories was called Fay and the Blue Jay and when you have a few extra minutes.. you draw a sad looking blue jay and make a list of -ay words!
I also drew the bird paper size and made copies for my kids to write their own words while we brainstormed for the chart.
We are still working our way through my Silly Snowmen Math Centers.
These math fact ones were part of our weekly centers.
If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know that each month I post about these cut and paste monthly activities. They are scattered through several of my center units.. but I have had a few people ask me to put them all together. So.. here they are!

I absolutely adore the colors and girly-ness of Valentine's Day! I would love for you to jump over and enter. It will also include some fun Valentine theme personalized stationery from my DBP website.
Have a blessed weekend! And, if you have Monday off enjoy your long weekend. I was not expecting to have a holiday. It was not on our schedule but we were surprised this week with the announcement. I'm looking forward to a day off!

I loved using your Calendar Resource the first week of January! My unit that week was Happy New Year, so your calendar activities were a terrific addition to my unit! I've decided to use the activities during the first week of each month. Enjoy your long weekend!

ReplyDeleteHad visited the sites you had posted and it was nice.
Nicely written information in this post, the quality of content is fine and picture very nice. Things are very open and intensely clear explanation of issues.
