Monday was supposed to be the day I got on a strict schedule and make myself start to work on my summer to-do list. But, guess what?! The AC went out in my truck and it is HOT!! So, that meant a trip to the dealership {3 hour drive away + waiting time} meant I was gone most of the day dealing with that craziness.
Thankfully, my truck is still under warranty which means it would pay for the repairs and also provide me a rental vehicle…
And BAM.. just like that I turned into a mini van driver! Not, that I wanted to be choosey by ANY means. At least they provided me something to ride in and the AC worked!! Who cares that I don’t have any kids to take advantage of the mini van. It actually drove very nicely and was quite roomy inside if you need any reviews or are in the market to purchase a new family vehicle.
And read below for a crazy dog + mini van true story.
My parents are out of town for the week so I get to pet sit for them {2 dogs + 3 cats}. Meet Buck and Biscuit. They have made the blog several times over the last few years. Buck is a 15+ year Old Man and Biscuit is the rescue dog that was adopted last summer.
Biscuit has been traveling with me this week on errands and Thursday morning we made a trip to the post office to drop off stationery orders to be shipped. I left the mini van {see above}unlocked and running with the AC on and Biscuit inside. I ran inside and was gone maybe 30 seconds. I came back outside and Biscuit has stepped on the door lock and locked the doors. So, I am locked out of the rental van, at the post office, with my phone and the dog inside and basically in the smallest town in America.
So, I went back inside and called my husband. He called a local locksmith and they said it would be 30-45 minutes before the locksmith could get there. So, while I waited and waited I tried my hardest to trick Biscuit into stepping on the unlock button. I had NO luck!!! She would dance all around the button but would not step directly on it.
The locksmith arrived about 40 minutes later. He walked up to the window and Biscuit jumped up and stepped RIGHT ON THE DARN UNLOCK button!
So, I paid a locksmith for 2 seconds of his time.
And, this is also why keyless entry so be on every single vehicle. You just never know when the dog is going to lock you out.
Good news- when I finally got inside the mini van. The car dealership called and my truck was ready. I am not back in my own vehicle which has my trusty key pad on the door.
I have been working this week on finishing up some new stationery designs and I have them listed on the Doodle Bugs Paper website.
I am having a little weekend sale if you need if you are interested. Enter code weekend20 for 20% until Sunday. Happy Shopping. {This is for my stationery website only.}

I was also excited to be featured in an article in Desoto Magazine. Which is a fun local magazine here in Mississippi. You can read part of the article HERE online.
And in between everything else this week I have been working on a new product. Maybe soon it will be finished…
I hope your week has been fun and exciting and I am wishing you an awesome weekend. Link your FFF post up below!
Kacey, it sounds like you have had quite the week! I'm glad that the repairs did not take long and you are back in your car. I always feel out of sorts when I have a rental. That's crazy that your furry friend did that tricky maneuver. What a story! Your stationary looks adorable, I will have to check it out. Thanks for hosting this fun linky! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your car taken care of quickly! I am in Texas and constantly paranoid that the AC is going to go out one day, house or car.

I have locked my keys in my car more times than I would like to admit! Now I finally have a car with keyless entry! What a story! Love your stationary!
ReplyDeleteI love your parent's dog names! So funny!!
ReplyDeleteI linked up this morning from my mobile device, and when I click on my blog post, it shows it in mobile mode. Can you fix this for me? I've tried to fix it, but can't figure out how. Thank you for the fabulous link up, and I can't wait to do it every week!!!!
I'm glad your car got repaired. No air conditioning makes for a miserably hot car in the south. Congrats on your mention in the magazine and thank you for hosting another week of Five for Friday.

Oh gracious! I love that I have a keyless start because if the key is inside the car the doors won't lock! Glad you're now in your own ride. :)
ReplyDeleteAh what a great story! I've had my share of car/animal escapades and it seems so funny later, but not so much at the time!!
ReplyDeleteSee you soon in Vegas I hope! The offer from last year still stands about crashing in my hotel room - haha! Love you! <3
Wow! You've had quite a week! :)
ReplyDeleteHow funny about the dogs and locksmith - that so sounds like something that would happen to me!
I love your papers - those new notebooks are adorable! I'll definitely need to take advantage of your sale!
Sounds like such a fabulous week! Your stationary is lush I love it!!! Thanks for another fabulous linkup!
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy story about being locked out! Definitely sounds like something that would happen to me! HA!
ReplyDeleteYes to the keypad on the outside of the car. I am so addicted to mine. I've become so relaxed about where my keys are knowing that I can get in any time I want. We are looking at moving to a minivan soon (I know - I said I'd never do it) but I hear you can't get keypads. I need to research this further because that is an AMAZING feature!
ReplyDeleteHi Kacey! Thanks for the linky. I love your notepads. I'm definitely going to have to put some on my wishlist for this next school year. They are too cute!

I can't believe your post office story!!! YIKES! But so hilarious!
ReplyDeleteLove your 5 for Friday! Unfortunately, I'm dealing w/ the same thing in regards to the air not working in my car. It suddenly went out...at the SAME (almost to the day) time that my husband's did in his car! So I can definitely relate to that unbearable feeling. Living in GA, it's definitely hot this time of year. Thanks for sharing!
