I skipped out on posting my Five for Friday last week because I was busy with our school's annual auction. This is our school's largest fundraiser and it was another success!  We have a huge selection of items that people donate and we have class projects that are always a big hit. Each year I paint a cross with my first graders. This was our finished project. It raised $136 this year. Each child picked a color and painted with "their color" then it had a fingerprint sheet that listed each child's name and color. 

Here is a look at part of the silent auction room. The live auction is held in a different part of the building. 

I also donated two groups of notecards and a  gift certificate to Doodle Bugs Paper.

One of the first units I teach at the beginning of school is Dogs. But, I also always read Go Dog Go in February. So, we did a few dog activities last week. 

I have decided this bulletin board is crooked! I really tried to get a straight picture but it is impossible. 
We made these precious dogs for our hall bulletin board. I have made these a few times over the years. This is an old art project {now renamed as craftivity} that my mom has had for years that she passed down to me. I just love them!

Bad News.. my beloved laptop bit the dust this week. I was hoping it was having a bad day.. nope.. It's gone. 

The good news it was Ebates pay time.. and this will pay a big chunk of a new laptop. Yippie! I share every four months when I get my "Big Fat Check" that you are CRAZY if you shop online and don't use Ebates.

We have been working on these math centers this week. 

They are all included  in my latest Valentine Centers Unit.

After wishing for a snowday.. we got two! Actually, all we had was ice. No snow. Boo! So, we had two ice days.

And the very best iced-in weather food.. leftover pizza.

I spent my snow {ice} days to work on a few Doodle Bugs Paper  

orders and get a little ahead.

Our school's silent and live auction is coming up next week. Each class makes a class project and they are always a big hit. Each year I have always painted a cross with my first graders. We started this year's project yesterday. I will be back next week to show you the final product!

Today is Valentine's Day {incase you forgot!} and since I post this before school on Fridays.. I might have to share more of our Valentine's Day in next Friday's post. But, here are the super low key Valentines I am giving my kids. No cute note or tag or no fun pinterest idea. Just simple Valentine cups with candy inside. What will a little more sugar heart?

We have welcomed February this week. Both of these printables are from my Months of the Year unit.

I finished my latest set of centers this week and my first graders have been enjoying them. They are listed in my store- it includes 5 literacy and 5 math centers.

My niece was playing basketball close for to go and watch her play this week.. as much as I dislike any sports and ballgames.. I really enjoy watching her play. 

It is always a special treat to get recognized and appreciated. Our 4th grade was responsible for February's teacher treats and they delivered Valentine balloons and cupcakes this week. Fun stuff!
