It’s Friday!!!!
Another week that has flown by… we now have 20 days left of school!
Oh my!
This little piggy went to school with me this week. Pigs are one of my favorite things to teach- and we will be reading and doing a {first grade version} book study on Charlotte’s Web next week.
We did another directed drawing this week.. we actually started on these ladybugs last Friday and we finished them this afternoon. They turned out really cute and I will share the finished project soon with you.
We had a few extra minutes one day this week and we practiced writing our spelling words on chart paper with markers.. they loved it and it took no prep time.
We have been reading The Three Little Pigs this week and worked on sequencing.
The product swap hosted by Jessica is tomorrow. My swap partner Laura and I swapped products. My kids enjoyed one of her products today and I will be back tomorrow to share about it!
Post your Five for Friday and link up below!
Those ladybugs are ADORABLE! Can't wait to see the finished product (and totally stealing that idea for next year's Open House!). Happy Friday!

Lucky to Be in First
My whole room used to be decked out in pigs- I have loved them since I first read Charlotte's Web as a little girl. Sadly, I did away with them last year because it was getting to be overkill. I was getting to the point where I'd think, if I get one more pig........ Every Christmas, birthday, teacher appreciation day, etc... I still love them though, just don't decorate with them. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!!!

I LOVE the little house for the 3 little pigs. My friend just gave me a great lesson for compare and contrast with 2 versions of the story. may I ask where you got that graphic from? I would love to use it! I'm going to be doing the lesson the first week in May! Oh, i also linked up for the first time--I haven't done a 5 for Friday yet, so I hope I did it right. lol. Have a great weekend.

I love the spelling on chart paper. I'm always looking for new ways to practice those words and keep it fresh and exciting. What better than coveted teacher paper and the markers that I only let them use for special occasions. Plus it's a no prep invloved idea....love it! Thanks!

Chart paper is hard to come by in my neck of the woods I had to do a double take on that pic! Seriously, I use whiteout if I make a mistake on my anchor charts.
ReplyDeleteI like pigs to...just a little:) Miss Piggy was my first piggy love.

Let the kids use the large chart paper for an activity. It's so simple and easy. Thanks for sharing that idea.

I have followed your blog for two years. I am not a blogger YET. Thanks for your wonderful ideas. I wanted to respond to "migraine" help. Origins Sensory Therapy Peace of Mind lotion on forehead, in front of ears, & on back of neck; glass of water; massage end of big toe & between thumb & first finger; ice packs to the head. Hope you don't continue to have issues with them. Have a restful weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the ladybugs!! I use chart paper for my kids in tutoring. They love it! Thanks for sharing and allowing me to link up {days late}. :/
