Homophones are one of my favorite skills to teach my first graders. We have discussed homophones several times this year.. but it’s time to get serious and learn a lot about these fun sets of words.
I have finished and listed my newest unit.. Homophones in my TpT store. The link is below if you would like to check it out.
Homophones: Centers, Activities, Flash Cards, Review Sheets and More
Here is a look at what is included…
This unit focuses on 15 sets of easy homophones as an introduction to this skill.
Practice sentences, word list (colored and b&w), review sheets, cut and paste match, and a mini poster.
Center Cards & Recording Sheet
YES/NO Sorting activity
Students read each sentence and look at the underlined homophone.
If it is correct.. it goes under YES. If it is incorrect.. it goes under NO.
Black and White Flash Cards- I printed these on colored cardstock.
And cute little crab flashcards .. These will be great recognition practice or I can use them as a matching activity in the pocket chart.

The unit looks great! The aunt and ant took me a moment because it depends on where in the country you live how you pronounce aunt. My hubby is from the south and read it right away:)
