I gave myself a little makeover today.. what do you think? Do you like that gray background or should I go with something more bright like green or orange? Do you like the bunting? I was THIS close to going with a little owl.. and you never know. I might wake up in the morning and change it ALL!
I will remake my blog button and a few other things to match.. once I decide if I want to keep this design.
I also added 2 new calendar card sets in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store- a bright polka dot and a chevron stripe set. I am working on a primary dot set too. But, I got distracted by the blog makeover to finish.
Leave me a comment on your opinion of the makeover and I will randomly pick someone to win their choice of the new calendar sets {bright dots, chevron stripes or the primary colored dots}.
xoxo, Kacey
No owl, too many owls out there. Turquoise might be nice!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the bunting! I like the stripes that match your background too. To be honest, I am not sure other colors will look better for your background. I just don't have the ability to 'see' it without being done ;)
ReplyDeleteOwls??? Too many out there already ;)
I love it!! The background looks good...but if you change it, maybe green or turquoise!

I like the gray! Using a different color may make it too busy. I agree with the previous comments: no owl. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your new background. I am slowly becoming obsessed with the chevron pattern!

Love the bunting...the gray chevron really makes it pop.

ReplyDeleteI love it! :)

I love the banners and the gray. I tried to imagine green or orange and I think it may be too bright. The gray is somewhat muted and accentuates the heading but does not take away from it. My vote is to leave it as is because I love it!

I love the bunting and I think that a brightly colored zigzag might get too busy. By the way, the font at the top is too cute! Can't wait to see your new button!

First off, I'm totally jealous that you know how to do this kinda stuff! I created a webpage years ago...but for some reason I can't do this blogging stuff. So sad!!! Your page looks awesome the way it is, but I would mess around with the background color a bit...because well...that's the way I am! lol And I say no to the owls.
ReplyDeleteLove the bunting and chevron...I think the chevron would be especially cute in orange (school color) or turquoise. Love your site no matter what you choose!

I think it's adorable! If you decide to do color, I vote green! ;) Otherwise, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love bright colors but chevron is very trendy right now!
ReplyDeleteAllison311@bellsouth.net
I love the bunting! And the grey!
ReplyDeleteI really like it the way it is...keep the gray and you can change the colors on the bunting whenever?

I love the bunting and the cute new font! I do like the chevron background, and my hubby knows I LOVE gray....but I think for a first grade blog I would maybe do something more bright and fun! Cute no matter what!
ReplyDeleteI think the bunting looks great!! Grey seems to contrast everything nicely! I think it is just perfect! :)

Learning Is Something to Treasure
I like the new design as well. I especially like the bunting and I also like the background. Even though it is good as is, the only thing I would change is the color of the chevron. I agree that a turquoise might look nice. Orange may be a bit to bright, but I guess I would have to see it before I could say yes or no. :) Nice work.

I live the new design and banner. I agree to leave the owl out. How about yellow instead of the gray? Orange, I think will be to bright. I've been thinking about redesigning my site as well.

Absolutely love the colorful bunting! It makes me want a sign like that in my classroom! I like the gray! It helps to make the header stick out!
ReplyDeleteAmanda
Love the new look. The gray makes the header pop. The golden yellow you used on "first grade" in your header might be a nice color for the chevron. Either way, everything you do is impressive!

Looks super cute! Love the chevron :)
ReplyDeleteI love the bunting and I will admit that the grey makes it easier to read the text because it is calming. I agree, no owl. I LOVE owls, but they are becoming too common :) I like the change - bravo!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look! I like the contrast of the gray with the colors. The font you used is awesome! I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is darling!! Love the bunting and the bright colors!! I like the grey, but I am the type that needs to see other colors. . . I am not good at visualizing things. :0)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the new look! First graders do rock and so do you! Thanks for all you do to share your great ideas with me!
ReplyDeleteHey girl!!! This looks amazing....you know I am jealous since my class mascot is clowns and we LOVE the BIG TOP!! So cute....love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love the flags! A green or turquoise would be a pretty background.

I would like to see the gray switched to the bright green in the banner. It will look so nice, bright, and summery!

Don't do owls - I agree with others... too many out there! I think your layout looks awesome the way it is - no changes necessary!

I like the bright colors on your bunting ~ don't know if a bright color would be too much for the background or not??? I like it the way it is now. :o)

like the chevron stripe - needs color - bright to match the bunting. Maybe make the word rocks gray - ya know rocks - gray . . . okay so maybe a stretch. Love following your blog.
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors of the bunting! Keep that and the colors of your wording(first grade rocks). I like the chevrons, but I would choose a brighter color to make your background pop and compliment the bunting and wording. I like the makeover!

I agree, too many owls. I love the bunting but would go brighter for background (I like turquoise or green as well!)
ReplyDeleteNO owls! I think the gray background is subtle and lets the primary colors stand out--Leave it the way it is--it looks amazing! ctillack@verizon.net
ReplyDeleteThe chevron stripes, although pretty, strain the eyes a bit when scrolling down the page. I am in love with the bunting though!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the bunting and the first grade rocks! I'm a visual learner so I'd have to see the chevron in another color, but I think that a color from the bunting or words might make it a little more "wow" !
ReplyDeleteI think it's darling, especially the font!

Beautiful!! I love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI liked your other page, but I LOVE THIS DESIGN!!! It's very colorful and fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the bunting and first grade ROCKS part and would stick with that. I agree with some of the others...too many owls out there. I think the background would be better with a brighter color...maybe purple or teal?
ReplyDeleteI really think it looks GREAT! Chevron is so in right now & choosing gray to go with your bright header looks fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the color would look nice. I like the colors of the title and the simplicity of it. Nice work! However, I think you are really creative and any changes you make will have you blog looking really sharp!
ReplyDeleteI like the bunting and the colors. I do think you should change the background to something brighter.
ReplyDeleteLove the new design!! And I really like the gray background.

I really like your new colors and bunting... Lots simple and classic.
ReplyDeleteI think owls are really cute! Even though they are lots of places, they are not all cute like you could probably create. I saw a cute primary color owl pillow that was super cute on a friend's pin that has primary red polka dots that could tie in really cute. Too may cutes used. ;o)
