Leap Day, the beginning of March, Dr. Seuss week.. and our quarterly testing week! Whew.. thank goodness for the weekend and for SPRING BREAK!

We celebrated the beginning of a new month on Tuesday with this cut and spell the word March activity. We do this at the beginning of each month. It's quick, simple and an easy display.

All 12 months can be found in this unit.

I am not a fan of MOST Dr. Seuss books BUT.. the Cat in the Hat is by far one of my favorite books.
We spent the week reading and enjoying  the Cat in the Hat and other Dr. Seuss books!

At my school everyone in grades 1st-6th are required to do a story board/reading fair project. Since this is a new concept for my first graders I made this one last weekend to share with them. And it took me almost FIVE hours! If it could go wrong.. it did! I shared some helpful tips with my parents. The #1 tip I shared was DO NOT wait to the night before to start!

It was my month to decorate our large hall bulletin board. I always hate a month that the holiday comes in the middle of the month. So, when I was assigned March I immediately started thinking what I could do that was NOT related to St. Patrick's Day. Then, I got REALLY excited to find out that Easter is in March this year!! Surely, we can live with a bunny for three days after Easter until April gets here, right!?!

And the BEST news ever.. My Spring Break officially starts at 11:00 this morning! Bring it on!!

Post your Five for Friday and link up below!
