Five for Friday is a weekly teacher linky party where you post five random things from today or this past week and on your blog. Then, you come back and link your blog post up at the bottom of this post in the linky tool.Grab the button above and link back to this post on your blog.
Let’s don’t talk about that I go back to work in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS! I’m not too happy about the getting dressed, makeup, less sleep part of the job.
Summers just fly by, don’t they?!?
In an effort to start getting my life back into a routine I was on the hunt for a simple {but cute} calendar. I have done big planners in the past. I’ve made my own, bought fun ones at Target or Walmart and even dropped the big bucks for an Erin Condren but I just work better with a simple calendar with room to make notes and lists.
I’d seen a few on Teachers Pay Teachers and I did a quick search this week to see if I could find something that fit my needs. And YES I did!
I came across Sara’s Calendar Notebook- and immediately knew it was just what I wanted.
It had the three requirements I was looking for…
{1} Simple {2} Lined Pages {3} Cute
The design is precious!
I printed mine front and back. I printed lined pages on the back of each calendar page with extra pages between each month. It’s perfect to make lists and notes. The cover is editable and I could personalize it with my name. I own a binding machine so the whole project took me less than 10 minutes to print and assemble. But, you could take it to a place like Office Max to get it binded or even put it in a 3 ring binder.
Seriously.. this is functional, affordable and cute wrapped up in one. I love it!
Check it out yourself…

I went into my classroom on Wednesday to work for a few hours. I went into a clean, packed up room and left with a HUGE MESS! I now have stacks and piles of stuff everywhere. I will need to work a few days next week to try and get organized.
These are math centers that have to be filed and put away. I say it every year- but I SERIOUSLY need to have a huge clean out!
I have two new products in my store this week.
And, also I see.. Animal Sentences. Students copy the simple “ I see…” sentence then cut and glue the words in order to finish the sentence.
There are 30 different animals included and the animals from Brown Bear with the correct colors are also included. These will be great for the first of school.

I like your animal sentences, very cool. I am getting anxious about my classroom too, but just packed up my summer classroom! thank you for providing such an awesome blog and products, Paula @ educating children with disabilities.blogspot
ReplyDeleteI love the calendar too! I have never been a planner type, but the calendar looks right up my alley! My math centers would probably look similar to yours, but I have been trying to purge since I am moving to 3rd grade. I can't let it all go, just in case I move back to first, but I only have so much room in my garage.

I'm Not Your Grandpa, I'm Your Teacher
Hi Kacey! I am so with you on number four! I went in yesterday and saw they were done with my floors... so now there is nothing stopping me from starting in with all the set up... I both love and hate it :) Thanks, as always, for the link-up. Kidpeople Classroom
ReplyDeleteThe planner is SO cute. I will have to check it out. We start in three weeks, too. Summer is going WAY too fast!

Have fun setting up your classroom! I go back in 3 weeks, also. I worked in my classroom 3 days this week and it is coming together. Thanks for hosting this linky party, I haven't been blogging long and this was the first time I participated. So fun!

Woohoo for my first Five for Friday! I know how you feel! I'm in procrastination mode right now, but we (teachers) go back on the 20th of August. I had to move rooms this year, so my stuff is presently sitting in the hallway. I promised myself I wouldn't go in until the first week of August, but I might break down and go in sooner because I hate knowing that nothing is even in my room yet! I love the planner. I found one that fit my needs at Target this year and it was only $10, so I'm going with it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your next few weeks!

I was unaware that you could get a binding machine like that! Our school's comb binder is flimsy, and doesn't hold up. I'll be looking into getting one of these:)
ReplyDeleteI've also dropped the big bucks on designer planners, and I've just been less than impressed! I just bought the Teacher Anchor and an Erin Condren planner, and it's just not enough space to write.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your find!

Though your math centers may be a "mess," they are inspiring to me! I wish I had tubs full of math centers! I guess I should get started on that.
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks for hosting.

Your planner is super cute...I just learned of Erin Condren this year (a little late to that party!) so I'm going to try hers out, but might have to bookmark you new one for next year!

Thanks for sharing my calendar! I'm curious, what binding machine do you use? I'm looking to get a more durable one with coil binding.
ReplyDeleteP.S. ~ I wish I taught younger grades so that I could use all of your cute stuff!

Your newly assembled planner is so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have until the 25th for the kids to start, but I've been working in my room trying to get organized. I FIANLLY purged through and got rid of massive amounts of "stuff" this year! It feels great!
Can't wait to see what your room looks like this year.

I just headed back to the classroom today to start setting up as well. It is amazing how easy those nice neatly packed boxes become messy piles everywhere! Good luck to you in your organizing!
