Getting Ready: week 5

It’s time to plan for another week!

Last week was a big blur…we had so much extra stuff going on at school that we barely had enough time to get the “must do” things in much less extra things I wanted to do. Even though all this extra stuff makes the days and the week fly by.. It’s so hard for me {and my students} to stay on track. I am BIG on a schedule and a normal routine..

But, we just keep on going.. on we are ready to talk about MICE this week!

Eek!!

The plan is to do 2 weeks of mice activities- so this week we will focus on Mouse Count. {Love that Book!} We made this bulletin board last year..

We will also read lots of Kevin Henkes’ books this week. Next week we will focus on If You Give a Mouse A Cookie.. Such fun stuff to be centered around mice.. I will be back later in the week to share pictures and a few freebies..

I also created a seller’s account on Teachers Pay Teachers.. I never set out to sell my stuff.. but I have been working on some cute things using Cheryl Seslar graphics. So, I bought the teacher’s license. She will allow 1-2 freebies a month if you have this license so I feel like it was a good purchase.

Last week I asked about suggested chapter books to read aloud.. Here are suggestions you gave me and also a few I read ..

You can click on each picture and it will take you to Amazon to see each book.

  1. You make such beautiful materials. I am in awe of your skills. This looks like a wonderful unit. Is Mouse Paint too easy for them? My kids love that book and we make "paint" with food coloring. The kids mix it on a graham cracker and eat "mouse paint."
